    What Does TuiNa Treat?

Many people seek the treatment for stiff neck, distension of shoulders, sciatica, and sore back but it is a complete system of medicine, so just like all other areas of Chinese medicine practice, it addresses specific patterns of disharmony in the body and is used to improve external injuries and overall health.

Just like acupuncture, Tui Na massage can relieve multiple disorders including insomnia, constipation, headaches, migraines, irritable bowel syndrome, premenstrual syndrome, and emotional problems. It can also treat disorders related to digestive, respiratory, and reproductive systems.

    What Does Tuina Feel Like?

During a TuiNa massage, a practitioner will focus on the meridians and acupuncture points using various ‘grasping’, ‘pulling’, ‘rolling’, ‘pushing’ and ‘opening’ techniques to encourage qi to flow smoothly. For a client, this may feel like pressure at specific points on the body (acupuncture points), rubbing or kneading along whole muscles, vibrating or shaking of arms and legs, and other sensations.
